Pushing Beyond

Pushing Beyond

"You are stronger than you think you are." We have said it and used it as a quote for 22 years. It is just as true today as it was then and it applies to all levels of life and fitness. No matter your journey in fitness, from National Champion to the youngest of beginners, we are all still learning how to push beyond. Beyond what we thought we could do. Beyond what we thought we could handle. Beyond what we ever thought was possible for us. This is where the quote came from in the first place. We have always taught and pushed people to a new level. Pushing your limits as an athlete is something that MUST be done on a constant basis. Learning what is your next level of maximum effort is so your sub-maximal level is also modified. Varying these two are one of the key components to strength and having the ability to push further and further. We often become stuck in a mental rut which inhibits our ability to improve as athletes. The only way to push these boundaries and breakthrough those mental ruts is to push beyond. One more rep. 5 more pounds, a few more minutes. These tiny little changes or improvements are huge mental successes. They teach us that we can handle more than we thought we could, that we have become stronger, that things we once thought were impossible are now possible. The human body is fantastic at adapting and perhaps one day we will find a limit to its capabilities, but as of yet, we have not. You are stronger than you think you are.
